Background
Penelope is the second child in a family of four children born to Clifford W. (past Worshipful Master and 32nd degree Mason of the Prince Hall Free and Accepted Masons) and Thelma L. Walker (past Grand Worthy Matron of the Prince Hall Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star). The Walker family was appreciated as a family that opened their doors to the neighborhood and insisted their community was well educated and respected.
Penelope is an active member of Messiah Missionary Baptist Church pastored by Reverend Daniel Smith . She is past president of the Gospel Chorus and Co-Tribal Leader over the Deborah/Esther Tribe.
She is the proud mother of three biological children; Willie, Wendolyn, and Wanda (deceased), and hundreds of adopted children of all races. She is also the proud grandmother of four biological grandchildren and three great grandchildren, plus hundreds of adopted grands. Not to mention "great grands" all over the country.
Penelope has been a member of the Gospel Music Workshop of America for more than 40 years. She sang as a member of the Grand Valley State William James Gospel Choir followed by the Voices of Freedom in addition to being an active member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church prior to her membership to Messiah.
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Grand Valley State University and is a retiree of Delphi Automotive after offering 29.5 years of service.
